One of the best Mapo Tofu dishes I’ve had! Packed with flavor, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. The service was equally impressive. Great food and great hospitality. Highly recommend!

Very tasty Taiwan food at Star Vista. I like the mapo tofu. The Dan Dan noodle is not my favourite tho. The braised pork rice is superb

The Mala Tofu Rice here is really good and has become my go to spot whenever I’m craving it. The tofu is silky, flavourful, and pairs perfectly with the rich, aromatic mala sauce. It’s the kind of comfort food that keeps me coming back.

One thing to note is that the spice level can be quite intense. I usually enjoy spicy food, but even Level 2 was a little too spicy for me. Those with a higher spice tolerance will probably enjoy it much more.

I also tried the fried chicken side dish, which was decent but slightly oily for my liking. Next time, I’ll probably stick to the Mala Tofu Rice on its own, as that’s definitely the highlight of the meal.

The only thing I don't like is scan to orderor walk to the counter to place order.

The beef was tender and juicy with the price you paid this standard is worth it. If you are not a garlic lover tell them not to put too much garlic or Chai poh.

The mapo tofu was absolutely satisfying and packed with bold flavors. The tofu was silky smooth and soaked up the rich, spicy sauce perfectly. What really stood out was the balance — the heat from the chili oil and the numbing sensation from the Sichuan peppercorns complemented each other without being overwhelming. The minced meat added a nice savory depth, making every bite more flavorful. It’s definitely a comforting and addictive dish that keeps you going back for more.

I recently stopped by Chen’s Mapo Tofu at The Star Vista after hearing quite a bit about this brand that specialises in Sichuan flavours, and it turned out to be a very satisfying meal.

The highlight for me was the Mala Don. The flavour was surprisingly authentic and, in my opinion, even better than some of the Sichuan restaurants I’ve tried in Singapore. I went for Level 2 spice, which delivered a good kick without being overwhelming. The familiar mala numbing sensation was very enjoyable – spicy, fragrant and quite “shiok” if you enjoy bold Sichuan flavours.

Another standout was the Mala Aburi Chashu with garlic chahan. The fried rice had a lovely wok hei and was rich and savoury. The slightly sweet, well-torched chashu paired nicely with the garlicky fried rice, creating a good balance of flavours for the don.

Overall, a very enjoyable meal with surprisingly authentic mala flavours. Definitely a place worth returning to when the craving for something spicy and comforting. I am now curious to try their high end outlet, Shisen Hanten!

The mapo tofu rice was so spicy,,, I regretted ordering medium spicy 😭 I eat chilli padi with my banmian normally so I thought level 2 spice would be ok for me but my god the first bite I took, tears immediately formed in my eyes HAHAHAHA it was honestly a struggle to finish but it's my fault, I overestimated myself. The Dan Dan noodles were delicious and not spicy at all so I'd recommend that for non-spicy eaters and for a more pleasant eating experience. The taste for both bowls were still delicious.
